When installing apt-get and attempting to run an update if you receive the following:

[root@amd-x64-21-64 apt]# apt-get update
E: Lists directory /var/lib/apt/lists/partial is missing.

Verify that /var/lib/apt/lists/partial exists.

If not: do

mkdir -p /var/lib/apt/lists/partial

Then you should be able to re-run apt-get update
